Nergeco AGRI5 and LABO5: The World's First Fast-Acting GRP Doors

Multi-composite door technology has resulted in the world's first rapid acting GRP frame doors.

The requirement: Market research showed that customers wanted an optional material but with the best qualities of 316 grade stainless steel.

The solution: Nergeco researched multi-composite GRP (glass reinforced plastic) technology to design and develop the door frame, rolling drum (beam) and other key structural components. The designs are widely patented by Nergeco.

LABO 5 doorResearch and development, - marketing for the project totalled NZ$4.84 million ( FFr 15 million), was spent over 5 years.

  • The world's first GRP rapid acting doors.
  • Superior to 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance, impact resistance and structural strength.
  • Fully washable frame and curtains.
  • LABO5 has a special curtain to resist bacterial deposits and without vision panels to meet EU standards.
  • "Self relocating" curtain after most "impacts".
  • Each side frame has curtain guides, and concealed cable & wiring ducts within a single GRP door leg.
  • Control board Í waterproof; PCB or Electromechanical.
  • Motor Í IP55 (or IP65 protection): Power 415 3phase, 10 amp fuses.
  • Drum and motor covers standard Í in GRP.
